United States Naval Academy

ALLIES/Civil Military Relations Club is a student-led initiative that creates a bridge for shared understanding between current and future military, civilian and business leaders. The club provides forums and innovative opportunities to enable networking and the discussion of global issues pertinent to all sectors. The organization strives to provide a framework for civil-military relations through which students can explore complex problems in depth, starting at the undergraduate level. The goal is to create a new generation of informed civilian, military and business leaders who are ready to tackle 21st century challenges in an integrated and collaborative manner. These relationships enable members to develop a mutual respect for each other’s careers, choices, decisions, perspectives and approaches that will last for a lifetime.

The ALLIES chapter at the US Naval Academy was founded in 2007 and holds weekly meetings on Wednesday at 1915 on the 3rd Deck of Mitcher. The chapter is very active, going on numerous Movement Orders to other colleges to learn and inform about the civilian-military gap, to lectures in  Washington DC and Baltimore to further their education and exposure to foreign affairs, politics, and defense planning. The USNA also hosts the Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference (NAFAC), which will take place in the spring of 2016.
