ALLIES Applications
Joint Research Project
ALLIES is thrilled to announce the 16th annual Joint Research Project (JRP), a cornerstone program of ALLIES that provides a unique and enriching experience for Tufts undergraduate students. During JRP, students from Tufts, the U.S. Naval Academy, and West Point design a three week trip overseas to research topics in international relations. This year, JRP will take place in Greenland late May-early June, offering participants the chance to engage in discussions, conduct site visits, and explore security and civil-military issues in an integrated setting.

JRP is fully funded and cost should not be a deterrent to applying. All non-graduating students of any major are welcome to apply! Applications will close on October 31st, 2025 at 11:59 pm. Feel free to send any questions to director@alliescivmil.org! Selected applicants will be chosen for a follow-up interview. Take a look at the ALLIES JRP Blog from last summer’s trip to Brazil and Argentina to get a better sense of the day-to-day activities. Additional information about JRP, including final papers from previous JRPs, can be found on our website.

Pacific ALLIES
Applications are now open for the 2026 Pacific ALLIES program! It’s a fully funded, four-week summer research opportunity in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. One Tufts student will work alongside U.S. Coast Guard Academy midshipmen to explore the intersection of climate change, technology, and national security, engaging directly with local communities, scientists, and military leaders. The experience offers a high level of independence and immersion, ideal for students eager to take initiative in a unique and remote setting.
